San Francisco, CA — April 28, 2025 — Pando Electric, a leader in affordable, high-power EV charging solutions for multifamily properties, has been selected for a $5.4 million grant from the California Energy Commission (CEC) under the GFO-24-604 – Reliable, Equitable, and Accessible Charging for Multi-family Housing 3.0 program.
With this funding, Pando Electric will deploy over 1,600 smart EV charging stations across California, dramatically expanding access to convenient, reliable charging in communities that have historically been underserved.
Pando Electric’s groundbreaking project is made possible through collaboration with top-tier partners: Prospect Silicon Valley (ProspectSV), a nonprofit innovation hub accelerating clean technology; Redwood Energy, a leader in zero-emission building design; Community Boss, a software platform specializing in property technology solutions; and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), ensuring high-quality union installation across the state.
"This grant validates Pando’s mission to make EV charging accessible to everyone — not just those with private driveways," said Aaron Li, CEO of Pando Electric. "Together with our partners, we’re proving that affordable, reliable EV infrastructure for multifamily communities isn’t just possible — it’s happening now."
Pando Electric’s smart outlets offer high-power Level 2 charging at a fraction of the installation cost of traditional EV chargers, eliminating ongoing maintenance and maximizing return on investment for property owners. With local jobs, scalable technology, and a turnkey deployment model, the project is designed to support California’s ambitious climate goals while delivering tangible benefits to residents across the state.
Installation work is slated to begin later this year, with deployments planned across a wide range of communities — from large urban centers to smaller towns — ensuring equitable access to clean transportation.
